One of 15 different necklaces made of silver links knotted together in a diamond shape. They were put together by the artist from the individual components of her sculpture "Netting" (2009), which was deconstructed by Bove for this occasion.
"Netting" hung as a delicate curtain down to the floor and linked memories of the artist Félix Gonzáles-Torres and a conventional wire mesh fence. Its transformation into several necklaces also takes up ideas of Gonzáles-Torres, who propagated a flexible handing of his works and exhibitions and sought proximity to everyday life and design.
Carol Bove's artistic concept is based on the connection to what is familiar from cultural history or everyday life in order to transfer it to a new, more open level.
