Everyday objects such as a light blue bucket and two dark blue gas cartridges form the subjects of Daniel Enkaoua's two still lifes. The painter concentrates entirely on the objects, which stand on a violet-brown background and in front of a slightly darker, yet also violet-brown background. Light falls on the objects and the spatial elements from the left. All the objects in the two still lifes are constructed with numerous clearly visible brushstrokes and a whole range of colour tones. In addition to the different shades of blue, there are shades of green, violet, brown, orange and white. Only when viewed from a distance do the objects materialise into a light blue bucket and dark blue gas cartridges.
By means of the colouristic design and the light, the artist lends the unassuming everyday objects luminosity and dignity and the sensual world of appearance a solemn, poetic character.
