- Michael Croissant is an important representative of figurative sculpture from the second half of the 20th century in Germany. His central subject is the human figure, which he abstracts and thematises in a radical simplification of form.

- Due to its graceful inclination, this is an expressive example of one of his heads constructed from geometric surface forms.

- The bronze is one of Croissant's head types with a crystalline shape and is reminiscent of medieval helmet shapes or visors.
