Art expertise since 1955

Experience, expertise and lasting relationships ensure the quality of advice that is indispensable for customers and collectors. As a partner with proven expertise, Galerie Koch is committed to this principle and can now look back on a history spanning more than 70 years.

After its foundation by the Greifswald businessman and art collector Bruno Koch in 1955, Jürgen and Angelika Koch, son and daughter-in-law of the founder, laid the foundations for the family succession in the company. Since the end of 2015, the gallery has been managed by Ole-Christian Koch and his sister Petra Koch in the third generation. The traditional Hanoverian gallery was initially located at Theaterstraße 15 and has been based at Königstraße 50 since the end of the 1970s.

The gallery specialises in works of classical modern art, internationally significant post-war art from the second half of the 20th century and selected contemporary art. The programme ranges from Ernst-Ludwig Kirchner, Lyonel Feininger, Emil Nolde and Rudolf Jahns to Otto Piene's smoke and fire paintings, Horst Antes' „Kopffüßler“ and works by Damien Hirst, Reiner Wagner, Renata Tumarova and Daniel Enkaoua. These are shown four times a year in exhibitions accompanied by high-quality catalogues.
With its programme, Galerie Koch is represented annually at important art fairs such as Art Cologne, where it regularly underpins its reputation.
